Union Pacific implements iTrakForce
iTrakForce, PST's position management system for non-operating personnel, was implemented by Union Pacific Railroad for its clerical employees. This system allows Union Pacific to bulletin new job positions, collect bids, evaluate and award assignments, and allows employee bumps via customizable web interface.
The system cutover affects all clerical employees, except for those associated with the Alton & Southern Railway, Commuter Operations in the Chicago area, and the ICTF in Long Beach, California. They, along with Mechanical and Engineering employees, will be added into iTrakForce later this year.
"We're excited because iTrakForce's electronic capabilities include improvements that our non-operating employees have been asking for," said Pat Carnie, Assistant Vice President-Accounting.
Using any network-connected or home PC, employees can:
- Review posted bulletins and employee bids
- Submit their bids and position preferences
- View employee assignment information
- View employee qualification and personal information
In addition, iTrakForce also includes a new 24x7 Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system with improved security and audit capability. The IVR allows users to:
- Listen to open bulletins
- Flag bulletins of interest
- Place and manage their bids
- Receive upfront notifications of bulletin awards
